How we work together

Systems questionnaire

We start by conducting a Systems Questionnaire to undertake an initial, high-level assessment of the school’s infrastructure to identify any areas which may require further investigation during the Security & Systems Assessment.

The Security & Systems Assessment

9ine will conduct an assessment of your school to evaluate the security status of the school’s IT architecture against the relevant globally recognised standard(s). This goes beyond the Cyber Security Testing (CST) analysis, and explores qualitative feedback from the school.

Report write up

The output of the assessment will be a report on the operational effectiveness of each system, and an associated list of risks and issues and actions that need to be completed to improve the integrity and resilience.

Report delivered

The findings we identify will be evaluated against the relevant standards and rated based on priority. Depending on the state of the school’s IT systems, we can find a range of vulnerabilities. The average number of identified risks &  issues we have found from experience is over 100 (May 2024).

The 9ine Platform

In addition to the report, we provide all recommendations in the 9ine Platform - a centralised tool that records the audit, and equips your team and 9ine to effectively manage all activity to mitigate these vulnerabilities. Tasks can be assigned to various colleagues, and evidence attributed to each step.

Review meeting

This is an opportunity for the school and 9ine to discuss any critical risks or issues highlighted in the findings that need to be resolved. Our report includes options for mitigation action including further support from 9ine. The 9ine Platform equips the school with a list of all required tasks to address the risks and issues, and resource planning to sequence remedial work.

Zero Trust Architecture

Prevent unauthorised access to data and services

Zero Trust is a cyber security framework that reduces uncertainty and improves overall system security. Zero Trust is a security framework that require all users, whether in or outside the organisation's network, to be authenticated, authorised, and continuously validated for security configuration and posture before being granted or keeping access to applications and data.

What people say

“The team at 9ine have been instrumental in supporting us in our journey toward stronger data privacy controls and a better cybersecurity posture. Their materials are thorough, precise, and easy to use, all at the same time. We've benefited greatly, both as an IT team and also as a wider organisation, having access to the 9ine team and their expertise. What really makes a difference is that 9ine understands the nuance of international schools in a way that other out-of-the-box cybersecurity and data privacy consultancies do not. Highly recommended.”

American International School Chennai, Director of Technology
“We began to work with 9ine for our Digital Privacy Management. We quickly expanded to their Cybersecurity services due to their professionalism, especially when such a wide range of aspects can benefit from each other. The different teams are always aware of what’s happening, and we benefit significantly, whether at a board level or on a very granular “under the hood” scale.”

“They felt like an extension of our IT support team for the time they were with us and were never judgemental on the approach we take with our systems and security. I’d have no concerns about recommending them (and using their services) again in the future.”
